Our theme, “Why Be Normal,” is one that speaks of the biblical principle of setting yourself apart from the world and unto God. But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. (Psa 4:3) It originated from a “slogan” that our founder, Shay Wiggins, had with his first custom truck he built with his father growing up. The essence of a car show enthusiast is to have a custom vehicle that is unique and different from what everyone else has. We want to take that pursuit and use it to show that belief in Jesus Christ can bring the same outcome in their everyday life by having something that not everyone else has. Something that the world will look upon and want.
About The Founder
I grew up learning the passion for custom vehicles from my parents. My first truck at age 16 was a custom 55 Ford F-100 that I built from the ground up with my dad. We’ve built several trucks since but I still have my first custom truck and I’m enjoying it still. Now that I’m a father, I look upon my passion heartbroken because I can’t bring my family to the same shows I grew up enjoying. After leaving the hardcore show truck scene I was not able to get it out of my blood and spent a couple of years contemplating how I would be able to pass down my passion to my two sons. Upon turning it over to God in prayer, God began to “birth” ideas in me for a way to bring my passion for trucks and my passion for Christ together…and WhyWear? was born. Now with a new passion, I hope to bring Christian family values back to the car show scene in hopes to one day, bring my family along for the ride.
